As someone who used to perform cremations, that metal will DEFINITELY be left behind.

Cool, will it melt the metal beyond the point of tying it back to Matt or no?

if you are worrying if the metal would melt or not......it doesnt matter. If the writers want it to not melt...then it wont melt. Remember the writers in season 8 decided that its impossible for a woman on the run with long blond hair to cut her hair or dye it. The writers would not allow a police officer(deb) to know that convenience store gas stations have cameras all over the place so there was no problem filling a cotainer with gas. As a detective pulling gas station video footage is rather common. So whatever the writers want....will happen no matter what the realities of the world is. I do like the realism of this new edition showing that dex is very awkward still especially around his son. very realistic..this is who he is and has always been.Another thing is....although he did naturally age, this edition of dexter looks beaten into the ground, aged, tired, ..that constant smile is gone. The deaths in his life have taken a toll

The police talk only about a shattered femur when Dex is at the station in the first episode. Dex sees the scar on Matt’s leg when he brings the rifle to the party. I don‘t think anyone mentioned metal, but you’re right. That could be part of disproving Kurt‘s lie about seeing Matt.

At the time I was wondering about that specific shot, of making a point of showing Dexter noticing Matt’s huge scar. Good catch.

Yes this too, but I am talking about the part when Dexter delivers the gun and his friend pours his heart out to Dexter about how jacked up Matt is and more about the “accident”.

I thought about this too! But why would anyone check there if its thought he made his way to the highway.. unless a random find of metal there is reported, etc

After all his dialogue about moving the body, I thought the way the incinerator came up and was just the perfect route to go almost seemed “too easy.” The show this time around seems to be pretty focused on the small, but important mistakes Dexter is making. “I’ve gotten rusty.” I just have a feeling something is going to come of that.

No idea why! Just a hunch. And possibly wrong.

Dexter being rusty is certainly a theme, so you may have a point there.

However, I think the police will stop looking for Matt as his father will tell everybody what he told Dex about facetiming him...so the search will stop and Kurt will take matters into his hands

I mean, something people seem to forget is during the holocaust bones were left behind and had to be crushed. The bones will be left behind lol. But you can't actually teach your viewers the holocaust was a hoax, or how to actually get away with murder. That'd be silly.

Now, modern cremation processes have a sufficient heat to turn a lot of bones into ashes, but even then some is still left over and has to be processed further. Dexter left a lot of evidence behind, but since it's the town incinerator, literally anyone could've done it.

Doesn't matter as everyone in the town uses the incinerator. It might be found, but it wouldn't be tied to Dex.
